SAS flies to Tel Aviv.

On June 4, SAS will begin flying direct from Copenhagen to Tel Aviv. The route is one of 28 that SAS is opening in 2012 and is line with SAS’s strategy of strengthening its product offering to both business and leisure passengers.

Initially, there will be a departure from Copenhagen to Tel Aviv every Monday. SAS will then be expanding capacity from July with an additional departure on Thursday and from October 28 they offer three departures a week.

“There is no doubt that a direct route to and from Tel Aviv will attract both tourists and business people from the area to Scandinavia. We are really looking forward to the launch of the route and being able to welcome our passengers on board,” says Per Møller Jensen.

Tickets to and from Tel Aviv go on sale Thursday, March 29. SAS will be flying to Ben Gurion airport, which is nine miles south-east of Tel Aviv, with the route operated by an Airbus 319, which can accommodate 141 passengers, or an Airbus 321, which can seat 198.
